Guided Tour to Bagamoyo

As Eazy studied at the Bagamoyo Art College he knows the area very well and is acquainted to many local artists. He also knows a lot about the history of the town Bagamoyo which in Swahili means “Lay down your heart” alluding to the age of slave trading. There are many historical buildings and sights to discover. Eazy will lead you to the famous Bagamoyo College of Art, the German cemetery, around the well preserved houses and the old church dating back to the colonial area. Eazy could also introduce you to some local artists such as painters and wood carvers. You can either walk or hire a bicycle. After this historical and cultural experience there will be enough time to enjoy the beautiful Bagamoyo Beach. Rates: Guided Tour per person: 30000TZS. Plus transport: Daladala, per person: 5000TZS, rented car: 60 000TZS. You can also rent a car yourself and explore the area, it's about 50,000TZS for half a day.

 

Batik

 

Batik Courses

Eazy Mjema is a renowned batik artist with great professional experience. In his courses he teaches how to paint special patterns on cotton fabrics using a wax sponge or a brush. Students also learn how to dye the textiles including the classical tie-and-dye process which was especially popular with the Hippies of the 70s.
Basic, one day : 40000 TZS incl. 1x2 metres canvas and colours Advanced, three days: 90000 TZS incl. 1x2 metres canvas and colours.

The nearest beach is only 20 minutes away by Bajaji (5000 TZS)

To the city center it takes you about 30 min (depends on the traffic). Go to Mbuyuni by Pikipiki (Motor Bike) or Bajaji and then change to Daladala.
